Was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She moved to the United States in 1992. She received her B.A. degree in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Psychology and Human Development, and her Master degree in curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University.

From 1999 to 2007, Mrs. Nunez worked as a Spanish teacher at Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery. From 2007-2009, she worked as a program assistant for Berwyn, District 98. From 2011-2017, she worked as a Pre-K Dual Language teacher at Cook County's Summit 104 School District. She is currently working as a PK Instructional Leader & Parent Engagement Specialist at Berwyn North, District 98.

Her greatest desire is to come up with new ideas and proposals to strengthen the educational system in the Dominican Republic. More specifically, one of her proposals is to create a children museum in which children could learn basic concepts of science and technology.
