DAMA, in partnership with Enlaces Latinoamericanos, held the 1er Festival Cultural Latinoamericano. On May 28-29, 2011, at the Hawthorne Raceway Park in Cicero, fourteen nations presented their culture, music, arts, crafts, tourism, typical foods, and live typical performances. Participating nations were: Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, and Venezuela. The Dominican pavilion attracted many visitors who praised the art works exhibited.
The Ministries of Culture and Tourism as well as CONDEX helped to make the exhibition possible.
